Meet the Maker

 

Hi, I’m Tessa — the maker behind Whitebirch Handmade Goods.

This small business started on my kitchen table during maternity leave in the mountain town of Golden, BC. I made a pair of leather earrings for myself, and after lots of compliments and encouragement from friends and family, I opened an Etsy shop. Within a year, one of my designs was featured in Chatelaine magazine, and I realized this could be something more.

Now, Whitebirch has grown into a full-time creative business. Every piece is still designed, cut, and assembled by me in my home studio, using repurposed leather, brass, and wood. I focus on sustainability — sourcing pre-consumer leather scraps, minimizing waste, and packaging orders in reusable and recyclable materials.

My goal is to create jewelry that feels effortless and earthy, with a boho vibe and a story behind every pair. Whether you’re dressing up or keeping it casual, I hope you find something here that feels like you.
