Meet the Maker

Hi friends, thanks so much for visiting! I’m so excited to share the story behind the brand with you here!

Whitebirch Handmade Goods began while I was at home on maternity leave in Golden, BC. After making a pair of earrings for myself, I received tons of compliments and lots of interest and encouragement from friends and family. From there, I decided to start my Etsy shop. My earrings quickly became very popular and I had a pair featured in Chatelaine magazine in my first year! I had great feedback with my first style, and soon I was getting requests for different styles. The collection has now grown and some of the styles have been directly influenced by my customers!

As a small-town girl, I’ve always preferred to shop small and I’m committed to having a small footprint on the planet. Keeping it as local and sustainable as possible, most Whitebirch Handmade Good products are made in small batches from genuine leather remnants sourced as close to home as possible.

All goods are carefully packed in reusable muslin bags and shipped to you in recyclable envelopes (where facilities exist). We also try to avoid the use of any one-time-use plastics!

I hope you love your earrings as much as I loved creating them!
